manFeather is conceived as a laboratory in many ways. It aims to explore the potential of Commerce as a force shaping the world we live in. Furthermore, it aims to understand it as a force shaping and co-creating the Future and the world we want to inhabit.
By the economic choices we make, commerce shapes the way we care for ourselves, each other, and our communities.
The economy, the environment and live in general are all as well affected by our commercial choices: the things we buy and sell, and the choices we made form cradle-to-grave.
For centuries, commerce and trade have been perceived as simple one way forces with no accountability for the external impacts of its actions, hence the notion externalities.Â
A simple example of this, could be the pollution and degradation of the natural environment, from the actions of the factories producing the garments we enjoy. These externalities, are not yet integrally accounted for in the price of our clothes.Â
If we could be more conscious and accountable for these: How would they inform our buying and recycling decision when it comes to our choice of clothing and garments?
